5 Must-Have Goals for 2019

2019 does not have to be a repeat of 2018. Make any type of progress in your life now because a year from now and down the line, you will thank yourself.

1. Getting Healthy with Food and Exercise.

You cannot just instantly change your normal eating habits and exercise for hours on end every day. With small changes to your eating habits and added exercise, you can lead your body to a healthier you.

With food, if you eat out every day, you can cut it down to every other day until you get it down to once or twice a week if that is your goal. You can even just eat a fruit a day or add a vegetable to your meal. Little changes are easier to do and keep up with until you fulfill your goal.

With exercise, you can join a gym and take a class that is offered whether it is in the pool or in the cardio room. You can even just go outside for a walk around the neighborhood or at a local park. If you want the privacy and comfort of your own home, you can order a treadmill to be set up in your living room.

2. Managing Finances with Budgeting.

Spending less, saving more, and paying off all debts are easier said than done.

First, you need to evaluate what you are having charged or debited to your accounts. Cancel or reduce the charges or debits that you do not immediately need. For example, entertainment like cable, internet streaming services, memberships, and subscriptions in the mail can canceled in order to have more money to pay off debts. You do not have to cancel everything, but you do have to pick and choose which ones you can live without. At least for a little bit. You might try to create a budget to help with spending.

Second, you should have a savings account and use it. You can start small by putting $50 into it every month and not touching it except for incidentals. That is a reason why to have savings in the first place. If you do more research and accrue more savings, you can be bold and invest.

Finally, there is good debt and bad debt. Loans and bills that are being paid on time and not overdue is good debt. Keep those payments going. With the bills that are overdue or credit cards that are not paid off every month, you can put more money towards those to get them down and paid off, then you can focus on doing the same for loans that are not overdue.

3. Traveling More.

Seeing or exploring a new place can widen your eyes and keep you leaving the house for more adventures. There are people that have never left their state or have never been to a different country or hemisphere. Life does not have to be the same thing day in and day out. Sprinkle in some adventures.

If it is money or time issue, you can start off small and find something or somewhere you have never been to in your town or state. You can take a day or a few hours when you are off from work and just go. You may like it and keep coming back or venture further out.

4. Having Supportive and Positive Relationships and Friendships.

It is important to have the support from your relationships and friendships. It is what helps you grow and evolve to a better self of you. Being with someone should make you happy.

With relationships, some people stay with their partner because that is all they have known and is easier to just put up with it. It does not have to be that way. You are strong enough to find a way to leave and be happy. Relationships should not be toxic to where you are emotionally drained. Be with someone that is your best friend, and you will live your best life.

With friendships, it is best to be around positive and uplifting people. Genuine friends will be supportive of you when you are doing great things. Keep in contact with those friends. The negativity of the others is just the jealousy that something is great is happening to you when you put in the hard work for it. They bring you down and try to keep you at their level.

5. Leveling Up in Your Career or Education.

You can always be more and learn more. You should not settle for anything less.

If your goal is to hold a higher position or make more money, you must change your circumstance. Maybe you should apply to another company. With your experience, they may value you more than your current company and give you something that you deserve with pay and position.

If you want to get a higher education, you must do the research into what you want to focus your studies on. Visit the local community college or university and see what they have to offer. You may even have to move if you are looking into a specific graduate program like pharmacy school, but it would be worth it in the end.
